One thing I recently ran across is I had a 7000 series BladeSystem chassis to install that had 2 Cisco Switch Modules and 2 Brocade SAN switch modules with it.
Once everything was powered up I connected to the OA/iLO port and went through the HP setup and got to the part of configuring network settings for the interconnect cards.
I configured IPs for both Cisco Modules as well as the Brocade modules, after I was done I went into the settings and noticed the Brocade settings did not apply, they were still set to 10.77.77.77 - the default IP addresses for a Brocade switch.
I tried a few different things but to make it short anything I tried through the web administration did not actually change the IP address on either Brocade switch but after some searching I found out how to change this.
- Console in to the Management Module
- Login to the Onboard Administrator with your administrator account and password
- Type ‘connect interconnect <number>‘ for whichever interconnect you are trying to configure
- Now you are logging in to the Brocade switch, the default user/pass is admin/password
- After you do this it will prompt you to change a number of other passwords (root, user etc)
- Type ‘ipaddrset’ and press Enter
- Enter the IP/SNM etc
- Verify you can ping the IP
- logout of the Brocade switch by typing ‘logout‘
- Return to the HP Onboard Administrator by pressing Ctrl-Shift-Hyphen
Repeat the process for any other Brocade modules if necessary.
