“A 14-year-old Pinellas boy found out it’s a bad idea to make a random phone call to try and sell drugs and it’s even worse if the person at the other end of the line is a cop.

Gulfport Police say that’s what happened Sunday night when 14-year-old Shaquille McKinney dialed a wrong number, calling the home of Gulfport Police detective Matt Parks.

Parks told McKinney he had the wrong number, but before he hung up, investigators say McKinney asked the officer if he wanted to buy some drugs.
Investigators say Detective Parks arranged to meet McKinney in a nearby school parking lot where on duty officers were waiting. Officers arrested McKinney and the man driving McKinney to the school, 22-year old Michael Araba.

McKinney was charged with possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school.

Araba also faces charges in the drug deal and for driving with a suspended license.”
